Client: Kamstrup North America
As part of of the lead-up to opening their new North American Headquarters facility outside of Atlanta, Georgia, Mixed Bag Media (MBM) was engaged to produce a series of instructional videos that would help Kamstrup North America, a leader in water metering technology, provide top-tier service to staff, distributors and customers alike. With key personnel in town from across the country the project was expanded to include capturing a photo library of products manufactured in the US.
Over two days, photos were captured in-studio for traditional catalog shots, in the field to see products in use, and during the assembly process. Capturing great shots of employees at work and taking part in team-building exercises was important as well.
Studio Product Photography
The product shoot was conducted in the same studio used for the video shoot, making efficient use of adjacent spaces. While the spokespersons were filmed against a green screen in one area, MBM set up a separate space with a white background for product photography. This white background allowed maximum versatility, enabling the images to be used in various formats such as websites, catalogs, brochures, and instructional materials.
• Scope: MBM photographed 10 unique meters and several accessories, each from multiple angles, including head-on, side views, and angled shots.
• Accessories: Various equipment, such as car-mounted transmitters, Mobile Telemetry Units (MTUs) for remote reading, and an optical read-out head, were also documented to showcase Kamstrup’s full range of solutions. Many of the images of meters that MBM provided can be seen on Kamstrup’s website.
• Post-Production: Color and exposure were adjusted and clipping paths were added to each image. Clipping paths outline the image and allow the product to be easily isolated from the background and superimposed onto different backgrounds
*Several of these studio product photos were integrated into the instructional videos as on-screen graphics, providing detailed images of the meters’ functionalities.
Field Photography
To capture actual water meters in use, MBM photographed a Kamstrup crew member demonstrating both on-site and remote meter reading, documenting the complete process from manual to vehicle drive-by data capture.
• Locations: These action shots highlight the meters’ role in daily water management while providing a sense of how Kamstrup technology integrates into diverse environments.
Headquarters & Production Facility Photography
At Kamstrup’s North American headquarters in Roswell, GA, we documented manufacturing areas and office environments to round out the story of Kamstrup’s operations.
• Manufacturing: Photographs captured meters in various stages of assembly, showcasing the precision and quality controls central to Kamstrup’s manufacturing process.
• Office Environment: Additional shots of employees engaged in team exercises, signage, and environmental details added context, capturing Kamstrup’s professional setting and team culture.
Conclusion
We delivered 109 images for use across Kamstrup’s marketing and training materials. By capturing images from the studio, the field, and the manufacturing areas at their headquarters, MBM provided Kamstrup with a cohesive visual library showcasing their products, people, and work environments, all reinforcing their commitment to quality and innovation.
